It is with heavy and broken hearts that we mourn the loss of our brother, Mark Holmes (Tony)
Mark A. Holmes, Sr., affectionately known as Tony, was born on June 1, 1963, to the late David and Viola Holmes. He lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio though he resided in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a time.
Tony enjoyed life to the fullest and had many friends. He had a big heart and was loved by many.
Tony suffered many physical ailments during the last several years of his life and fought the good fight but lost his battle on January 1, 2023, at the age of 59.
Tony was preceded in death by his brothers, Thornton Holmes, and David Holmes, Jr.; and sister, Patricia Bufford.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Mark Holmes of Akron, OH; brother, Michael Holmes of Santa Ana, CA.; sisters, Donna Jones, and Faye Holmes both of Locust, NC; sister, Juanita Johnson of Akron, OH.; aunt, Mangia Holmes of Akron, OH.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved him.
We want to thank God for our brother and the time we had with him.
Special thanks to the Cleveland Clinic and Affiliates for caring for Tony during the last 6 months of his life.
Thank you to those who kept Tony in their prayers.
REST IN PEACE OUR BELOVED BROTHER, UNCLE AND FRIEND…you fought the good fight!
