Marlon Jerome Cox (“Cozmoe”) passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019. He was born in Akron, Ohio on April 3, 1972 to Darryl Sr. and Valerie Cox. He was the oldest of two children.
Marlon was a child of God and a believer in Christ.
He graduated from John R. Buchtel High School in 1990, where he excelled in sports, playing football. After graduation, he relocated to Sacramento, California to continue his education at Sacramento City College. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan and a Lebron James fan.
Marlon was employed by the State of California, Office of the Secretary of State. He was a dedicated worker and was admired by his co-workers for his caring and giving spirit. He was also a fashion enthusiast, who was admired by many.
Additionally, he was a member of the New Direction Christian Center in Sacramento, where he served as the New Membership Coordinator.
Marlon was preceded in death by grandparents, Charlie V. and Frank Spencer, Clarence Cox Sr. and Robert Jeter; uncle, Victor Jeter and aunt, Alice Faye Small.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Porsha Green of Akron, OH and Marlynne Cox of Los Angeles, CA; parents, Darryl Sr. and Valerie Cox; brother, Darryl (LaToya) Cox Jr.; grandparents, Bobbie Jeter, Charles O. (Fredericka) Davidson, M.D. of Dyer, IN and Cecile Cox; uncles, Glenn Cox, Clarence Jr. (Tambra) Cox of Woodbridge, VA, Mitchell (Harlonda) Cox of Stafford, VA, Harold Davidson of Dyer, IN and Darryl Davidson of Milwaukee, WI; aunts, Denise (John) King, Sharyn (Jerry) Weems and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
