Martha Lene Riley, affectionately called Marlene or “Mot”, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. She was born on June 29, 1942, in Monroeville, AL to the late Carsuit and Evelyn Riley. She was the second youngest child of 14 children. She graduated from Central High School. She was a member of Miracle Revival Fellowship Church, where she was on the mother’s board. She was a homemaker and loved singing in the gospel group “Morning Glories.” She loved fishing, gardening, grilling even in the winter, and her favorite food was watermelon. She always kept one on hand to share with whoever visited. Her favorite pastime of all was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special bond with every one of them each different from the other. She was a motherly woman who everyone gravitated to including family, friends, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Foster, Otis, Renzy, Willie, Joe; sisters, Mary, Sally, Gertrude, Mildred, and Annie Pearl.
She leaves to cherish her memory her oldest and only son, Zackery (Janine) Riley; daughters, Sabrina, Sreda, Loroletha all of Akron, Evalani (Michael) Goodwin of Charlotte North Carolina; sister, Katie; 2 brothers, Lesley and Calvin; grandchildren, Trumaine, Janay, Zackery, Ti’Asia, Quashane, Destiny, Tinesha (Steven) Grissett of Charlotte North Carolina, Truvonte, Carleshia, Ti’Aaron, Tiavonte, Michael, Dion, Tache’; great-grandchildren, Zanaya, Erieona, Eric, DeArion, Quashane II, Quashaun, Carly, Kevin, Ta’Leaha, Keviyon, Mari’Yona, Braylon, Layla, Zachariah, Ta’Veon, Levi, Mekhi, and Teion; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
