With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Martiesha James, who departed this life on November 26, 2025. Born on July 28, 1992, Martiesha brought light, laughter, and warmth to all who knew her.
Martiesha was the beloved daughter of Alfonzo James Sr. and Tonia James, and her mother Donna Johnson. She was a devoted and loving mother to her cherished children: Marliyah Williams, Marshon Williams, and Martinez Williams, who were the pride and joy of her life.
She was deeply loved by her siblings: Kanestria (Nicola) Spillman, Alfonzo James Jr., Dante Johnson, Mya Smith, Reina Smith, Raya Smith, and Precious James. Her children’s father, ShonT’aire Williams, held a special place in her life.
Martiesha is also survived by a loving extended family, including her aunts and uncles: Felicia Lightfoot (Aunt), Hassani James (Uncle), Laquita James (Aunt), Annie P. O’Neil (Aunt), J.W. Johnson, Mandela Tate (Aunt), Sheila Johnson (Aunt), and Beverly James (Aunt). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
She shared an unbreakable bond with her best friends: Myesha Hammonds, Shavon Gibson, and Vonteria Allen, whom she loved like family.
Martiesha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Annie B. Johnson, Billy Easter, and Deborah James, who welcomed her into eternal rest.
A proud graduate of North High School, Martiesha later worked at McDonald’s on State Road, where she was known for her bright spirit, warm smile, and her ability to bring joy to coworkers and customers alike.
Those who knew Martiesha describe her as kind, loving, and giving—someone whose presence could instantly uplift a room. She had a fun, silly side that could make anyone laugh, and she carried a quiet strength, often hiding her pain so others would not worry. Warm-hearted and genuine, she loved deeply and gave freely of herself. Her smile, humor, and beautiful spirit will be forever missed.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Martiesha’s love lives on through her children, her family, and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.
May she rest in everlasting peace.
