Martinez A. Lee Sr., affectionately known as Marty, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on April 15, 2022, at the age of 57. He was born on April 1, 1965, to Annethya Lee and the late David J. Lee.
Marty graduated from Firestone High School where he played football and basketball. He attended Ohio University where he played football and met the love of life – his wife, Sherri, and he also attended The University of Akron. After serving 8 years in the United States Army National Guard, Marty received an honorable discharge. God being his pillar, Marty was a faithful member of The City of Joy Life Enrichment Center.
During Marty’s downtime – which was any time he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing his keyboard, golfing, going to the gun range, spending time with his grandson, shopping and traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed being part of the Band of Brothers Men’s Group.
Marty was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and a Dallas Cowboy fan. Many have been touched by his life from his kindness, honesty, and willingness to help all. He will truly be missed.
Marty leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Sherri; his 2 sons, Marty Antonio Lee Jr. and David Jaye Lee, Sr.; only grandchild, David Jaye Lee, Jr; his mother, Annethya Lee; his sisters, Gwendolyn (Anthony) Brown and Greta Baylor; brother, Marcus (Glenda) Lee; his 2 Godsons, Daryan and Keith Brownlee; his best friend, Ray Charles Durant; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
