Marvin Lee Coleman, was born December 19, 1934 in Glade Springs, Virginia to Issac and Roxy Coleman one of 12 siblings. At the age of 3 Marvin moved to Blacksboro, Virginia with his parents and 2 older siblings where he remained until the age of 18.
Marvin was employed by B.F. Goodrich and always maintained gainful employment until hired in at Chrysler where he retired after 30 plus years of service in 1992.
Known for his mechanical ingenuity Red (as he was affectionately called by family and friends) could always be found tinkering with lawnmowers, washing machines and dryers, refrigerators and any other gadgets he was called upon to repair. Red had a green thumb and loved gardening and landscaping until his health prevented him from continuing to pursue his passion.
Marvin was married to Mary Johnson Childers and they began their life together in 1978 in Tallmadge, Ohio and resided until his transition. Marvin accepted the Lord as his personal savior and rededicated his life to the Lord this year ensuring the penmanship of his name in the lambs book of life.
After a courageous battle with cancer on Friday November 3, 2017 Marvin (Red) Coleman peacefully departed this earthly life with his loving wife by his side.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James and Bill Coleman and sisters, Sarah Gamble and Mary Kay Carter.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 24 years, Mary Coleman; children, Carmen, Dennis (Dinah), and Marvin Jr; stepchildren, Consuewella, Cameron (Mary) Childers, Chelita Misty Parker; siblings, Prince, Dave, Mack, Tony, Charles, Irene Wells, Evelyn Campbell; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
