Grace Rice left a message on June 7, 2020:
I remember when Marvin wanted to come speak with my husband (a fellow worshiper) to support him through his difficult cancer journey. Unfortunately, my husband passed not long after that offer, but he and I both admired Marvin for his desire to speak with us knowing what we learned was his own very serious and difficult walk in his own long-term health crises. When I would see him ushering in church he always had a smile and even a hug to share - which lifted us just when we needed it most. I will remember Marvin as a kind, gentle man who had the heart of God and happily served him the very best he could. He was a beautiful soul. My sincerest condolences to the Marvin Creel family.

Marvin, My dear friend of 60 years, you distinguished yourself as a fine man, a man amongst men. Not because of how you looked or what you had accomplished. Even though, my brother, you were "fine" looking and "dressed to the nine" (smile). No Marv, you distinguished yourself for Who you were and What you were. You were a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend and most of all devoted to God and to your church. When you knew it was time to leave this Earthly plane, I bet you asked for more time. Not for you but because it was so much more you wanted to do for your loved ones and so much more you wanted to do for the glory of God. It's a wonderful thing, Marvin, to know your living was not in vain and to hear, "well done my faithful servant, well done. Now come unto me. It's time to rest." My heart is filled with Joy to know you have the VICTORY. God bless the family and all those who love Marvin especially Monte, Damion, and Miranda. May you be blessed with Infinite Love and Infinite Peace. Know we are praying for you and we are here for you.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Creel family at this most difficult time. Marvin, you fought a good fight and I'm going to miss you so much. Our lunches and long talks on the telephone with you offering much needed advice and most importantly, your love and encouragement have meant so much. Rest well my friend, until we meet again. Miranda, Monte', Damion, and grandchildren you were the light of his eye in good and bad times. I pray for your strength and comfort. Hold tight to your memories and know that in the bye and bye the pain will begin to subside. My heart hurts with you, and you are all in my prayers.
