Mary Ellen Rollin, a charismatic, funny, charming, and beautiful young woman, was a light that could never be overlooked. She had a presence and an essence that captured every room she entered. Her laughter, personality, and genuine spirit made her unforgettable to everyone blessed to know her.

Mary was born on September 4, 1973, and was a proud Virgo. She was the oldest of three children and, from an early age, naturally took on a motherly role with her younger siblings. She loved deeply, protected fiercely, and was always someone her family could count on.

Mary was a proud graduate of Truman High School in Taylor, Michigan, Class of 1991. She was a woman who believed in herself and never stopped striving for more. Through determination, perseverance, and hard work, Mary earned two master’s degrees, an accomplishment she was incredibly proud of. Her education represented her strength, dedication, and commitment to becoming the best version of herself.

After leaving Michigan and moving to Cleveland, Ohio, Mary began a new chapter in her life. There, she found work that was especially meaningful to her: helping people experiencing homelessness. Mary had a heart for helping others and being able to make a difference in the lives of people facing difficult circumstances that gave her a deep sense of purpose.

Mary was also a devoted mother. She and her former husband, Roderick Hubbard, shared a beautiful son, Roderick Hubbard Jr. She also had a bonus son, Derek, whom she loved dearly. Her children were a special part of her life and her heart.

Mary leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her loving mother, Patricia Rollin; her father, Danny Harris, who preceded her in death; her sisters, Angelina Rollin and Crystal Rollin-Winstead, her beloved baby sister; her children, Roderick Hubbard Jr. and Derek; and her nieces and nephews, Andrea Jackson, Ramiyah Rogers, and Ebonn Jackson, whom she loved dearly. They will forever cherish the precious memories they shared with her. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends who were blessed to experience her love, laughter, loyalty, and one-of-a-kind personality. In addition, she leaves behind her three beloved Yorkshire Terriers, who brought her immeasurable joy, comfort, and companionship.

Mary loved her best friends Nikki, Pennie and Tomica very dearly and her friends loved her dearly as well. She also loved her many friends that she had in her life as well. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her impact reached far beyond her family. Everyone she touched became a part of the story she leaves behind.

Mary found comfort, companionship, and so much joy in raising her three Yorkshire terriers. They were not simply pets to Mary—they were her babies. She loved and cared for them with all the tenderness of a mother, and they brought her comfort, happiness, and unconditional love. Just as Mary will forever be missed by her family and friends, her three babies will also miss their mommy dearly. Her love will remain a part of their lives forever.

Mary’s journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit, her laughter, her accomplishments, and the love she gave will continue to live on in all who knew her.
