Mary Lee Conwell (May Lee) was born on August 24, 1940 to Beulah Stafford in Montezuma, Georgia. She moved to Akron, Ohio at the age of three.
She attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Garfield High School.
After graduating she worked various jobs in retail, food service, and hair salons.
Mary joined Mount Calvary at an early age where she met and married Fred Conwell in 1960. From that union, four children were born.
She also attended Good Hope Baptist Church before receiving the Baptism of the holy spirit under Apostle Sam Sallis of the Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center. She remained a member of the Holiness Church of Christ for over 50 years until her death.
Mary was a very lovable person with a quiet spirit. She loved the Lord with everything in her and enjoyed going to church services and praising God. She loved reading, studying the word, and praying for others. She was on the Intercessor Prayer Team at church and did missionary work for over 30 years.
Mary loved to travel, cook, and spend time with her granddaughter, Gabrielle, whom she adored. She liked to shop and was quite a fashionista.
She was preceded in death by her mother Beulah Stafford, stepfather Arthur Stafford, brothers Marvin, Johnny, and Arthur Jr., sister Marie Jackson, son Reginald, and nephew Winston Turner.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her husband Fred of 63 years, daughter Crystal, sons Jeffrey (Michelle) and Cory, sisters Haydee Turner, Dorothy Arnold, and Syreeta Stewart, granddaughter Gabrielle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
