Mary Lucile Sanders was born on July 21, 1952 in Blackshear, Alabama to Willie Mae Sanders. After graduating high school in 1971 she moved to Cleveland, OH. She always worked two jobs until she retired from Cleveland Clinic in 2018 in The Plain Dealer in 2016. She was a member of NuVision Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess and sang in the choir. She adored crossword puzzles and shopping. She was granted her wings on June 28, 2022.

Preceded her in death by her special friend Emmett Glasgow, granddaughter Mari Kanai Sanders, mother Willie Mae Lovett and Aunt Mary E. Kinney. Mary is survived by her son Marvin Sanders; granddaughter Malaiya Gresham; siblings Willie (Brenda) Lovett, Linda (Olander) Williams, Brenda (Jerold) Rover, Maurice Lovett, Glenda (Vernon) Johnson Mildred (Edward) Parrish; best friend Janice Rowe, and a host of nieces, nephews, and a long list of friends.
