She was a loving mother, sister, auntie, cousin and friend. Mary Sombo Ansumana Cooper went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2021. She was born on August 5, 1956 to Daniel and Moinyan Ansumana in Bolahun, Lofa County, Liberia. She attended Bolahun Episcopal Mission Schools: St. Agnes Episcopal Elementary School, St. Cyprian Junior High School, St Augustine Senior High School, and Cuttington University College.
Mary worked as a nurse for many years in her homeland and continued to work in the healthcare field when her family migrated to the United States. She was a loving and caring soul who dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She was an entrepreneur and was willing to support and protect the ones she loved. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, she was like a mother to all who met her. She loved to cook and feed the ones she loved. She was a member of many organizations including Bolahun World Wide Inc., Children of Zion Ministry, Lofa County Association of Ohio, Northeast Ohio Voter Advocates, Shepherd Ministry of Minnesota, Praise House Prophetic Ministry and Victory International Prayer Line, and Cuttington Alumni Association in Suacoco, Bong County, Liberia; where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel; mother, Moinyan Ansumana; brothers, Daniel Foday Ansumana, Francis Kenneh Ansumana, Varfee Ansumana and Satu Ansumana.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Ansumana Cooper; three daughters, Korto (Maf) Fullah, Yangar Cooper, and Frances Cooper; nine grandchildren, Alexis Cooper, Afton Cooper, Isaiah Cooper, Aaliyah Cooper, Israel A. Fullah, Keondrah Cooper, Brandon Williams II, Samyia Samuel, and Jada Cooper; siblings, Alice Ansumana Salifu, Augustine Foday Ansumana, Mamai Ansumana, Thomas Ansumana, Aaron Blama Ansumana, Blama Bodoi Ansumana, Pelima Ansumana, Sekou Ansumana, Hawa Ansumana, Angeline Moyan Smith, Jeniffer Ansumana, Daniel Jallah Ansumana, Mohammed Karmo Ansumana, Marion Ansumana, Sata Ansumana, John Ansumana and Moses Ansumana; uncles, Ansumana Pelima, Hena Pelima, Steven Pelima; aunts, Hawa Pelima, Ellen Tennih; father of her kids, Moses T. Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
