Mary Snell-Gatlin was affectionately known as “Polly” passed away on February 2, 2021. She was born on January 9, 1955, in Bolivar, TN to the late N.C. and Roberta Avent. She graduated from South High School. She was an active member at Friendship Baptist Church. She worked at Fairfield Suites in the Environmental Service dept.
Mary enjoyed playing cards, spending time with friends, and walking her dog Sage. She also loved to spend time with her sisters and brothers during family gatherings and outings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and RV Woods, and N.C. and Roberta Avent; brother, Leo Woods.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her lifelong partner, Ricco Baker; fur baby, Sage; brothers, James (Maxine) Avent, Edward (Rutha) Avent, Monroe Avent, and Richard (Detra) Avent; sisters, Lynda (David) Woods, Geraldine Avent, Frances Gibbs, and Margiear Johnson as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
