Maxine Golden was born January 10, 1963, in Columbus, MS to Annie and William Smith. She was a child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a graduate of Motley High School. She enjoyed being a fun-spirited wife of 38 years. Her husband was her rock, which she enjoyed every precious tenth of a second of being with. The legacy she created will forever live strong. Her recipes will forever live through her children, grandchildren, and their children. She was raised with southern values and remained close to her traditional values. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining while being the rock and the forever most beautiful woman. She was the backbone, and the key to her family, which she was best known for. She enjoyed visiting Columbus, MS, and was most happy when she was able to return home to visit. Her greatest achievement was motherhood and being a wife. She created a new wave leaving behind a legacy of black excellence.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Smith; beloved son, Alfonso Golden, Jr.; beloved daughter, Tanisha Smith; and niece, Jabree Golden; sister-in-law, Deborah Deane Smith.
She is survived by her loving father, William Smith; dearest husband, Alfonso Golden; sisters, Joyce, Sharon, Evelyn, Sherri; brothers, William, Jr., and Fredrick Smith; beloved children, Tiffany and Tavarasa Smith, Marcus (Teaira) Golden, and Eries (Karl) Golden; grandchildren, Aveya and Taniyah Smith, Tamia, Saniyah, Saniyah, Aaliyah (Tesha), Demarcus, Jr., (Star), Marcus, Miley, Legend, Santana, Alayah Golden, David Rucker, and Savion; dear friends, Darla Payne, Rick Jones, Mike Mitch, Roland, Jonathan, Diamond, Shonvoy, BaeBae, and many others.
