On behalf of the Solon Football program we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Melvin’s entire family during this difficult time. I remember meeting Melvin as a freshman and it was easy to see the talent he had, but I will always remember the way his smile would light up a room when he walked in. He was a great teammate, fearless competitor, and overcame a lot during his time at Solon. He embodied what it meant to be a Comet and his spirit will live on in our program forever. Brian Wisniewski (Coach Wiz) Head Football Coach - Solon HS

Dawn Anderson left a message on January 11, 2022:
Melvin was the most pleasant and personable person that I had the pleasure of knowing for the last two years. We worked together at Swagelok and I can say that everyday he always had a huge smile on his face. Even if you weren't having a good day he would always come over a tell a joke and make you laugh so hard. I told Melvin everyday how good he smelled and that's one thing besides his personality that I will miss the most. He was genuine, honest, and had such great integrity. I have missed him so much already and I pray that your family finds the strength, comfort and love in the Lord during this difficult time. They say God makes no mistakes but please take each day and cherish all the wonderful memories that you had, I know I will Rest in Heaven Melvin, Dawn

Tracy Carlie left a message on January 10, 2022:
Melvin was such a fun loving cousin. Although he was younger than me I enjoyed being around him when he came to Ga. My last memory of Melvin was in May 2019 at one of my nieces graduation. After the graduation we all went bowling and we all had a great time with everyone. Melvin and I was rolling balls for everyone while everyone was putting on their shoes leaving to go home. Melvin and I was taking everybody else’s turn bowling and just laugh and having so much fun together. My son Jordan said Melvin was constantly texting him to check on him since he started college last year in August. I am truly going to miss seeing him with the Mincey family gatherings. My heart was saddened with this news but I know that God don’t make any mistakes and that Melvin is resting in his arms. To my cousin George and to Shameka we are here for you all. It’s going to take time to heal but just know that God has you both wrapped in his arms and he will help you both get through this. Rest well Melvin! We love you and we will miss you dearly!!

To Melvin’s family, my prayers are with you all. Thank you all for sharing this precious beautiful soul with us all. I was Melvin’s high school nurse and we would talk every day, he was the son I never had. He would stop in the office to say “You Good?” . Then he would turn up the radio, sing and dance, lol! Or sneak my phone of my desk for a selfy photo shoot, I would find once I was home, lol! I can not think of one day he didn’t wear a smile, or make me laugh. Even during his football injury he remained positive. Melvin you have taken a piece of my heart to heaven with you, I love you my son from another mother. I know God has been laughing everyday because your just being you. Our hearts are broken, but we rejoice know we will see you again our angel❤️
