Meredith W. Saulsberry, Sr was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 27, 1952. Meredith was the 8th of 12 children born to Parilee and Lebrasko Saulsberry, Sr. Meredith transitioned into
eternity on the evening of January 7, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Meredith attended Detroit Public Schools, and later attended Job Corp. where he learned the skills of operating heavy equipment. In the mid 1980’s, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved listening to biblical teachings by Dr. Charles Stanley and Dr. Bill Winston, among others. While in church he faithfully served the Lord as a Deacon for many years. Meredith began his lifelong career at Chrysler Corporation in Detroit in September 1973, retiring in March 2008 with 35 years of service.
In 1972 Meredith met Sandra Hudgins. In June of 1976, they were married, and out of this union were born 5 sons: Meredith W. Saulsberry Jr., Marcus Lee Saulsberry, Michael Steverson
Saulsberry Sr., Maurice David Saulsberry Sr., and Matthew Robert Saulsberry Sr. And also sons Fredrick Goodrich and Omar Burrell. For the past 3 years, he served as a Team Lead with the Summit Lake Youth Ambassador program, mentoring and teaching job skills to the youth in the Summit Lake community.Meredith enjoyed entertainment from the past like old western shows, enjoyed listening to music, and loved to go fishing. He was a handyman throughout the neighborhood and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Meredith was preceded in death by his parents Parilee and Lebrasko Saulsberry, son Matthew Saulsberry, son Omar Burrell, brothers Lebrasko, Mark, Agee, Marvin, and Melvin, and sisters Ella, Vermell, Sherlene, and Josephine. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Sandra, sons Meredith Jr, Marcus (Star), Michael (Erika), and Maurice (Erica), 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sister Dakota, brother Wilbur (Val), Mother-in-law Carrie Miller, Sister-in-law Louise Saulsberry, special niece LaShawn, and goddaughter Darshay. And a host of family and friends.
