Michael A. Jones was born on September 9, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Alvin and Eileen Jones. From an early age, Michael’s life was rooted in faith, family, and a strong commitment to excellence.  Michael’s early childhood centered around a loving, closely-knit family setting anchored by his maternal grandmother, where his aunts, uncles, and cousins lived next door, across the street, and blocks away from his parents dwelling. This paved the way for the strong bonds he formed with his relatives, which lasted throughout his adult life.

Michael was truly a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Michael could keep the family in tears from laughter—a trait his son, Jamil, proudly embodies and carries forward. His warmth, wisdom, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

After a long journey with MS, Michael gained his heavenly wings on the most holy day of the year, Ash Wednesday, February 18th, 2026. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alvin and Eileen Jones.

Michael’s legacy is one of faith, integrity, service, love, and laughter. He lived a life that honored God, uplifted his community, and strengthened his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will live on for generations to come.
