The Life of Michael “Mike” Mitchell

Michael “Mike” Mitchell was born March 1, 1960, in Cleveland, OH to Mamie and the late Ozell Mitchell, Jr.

Mike, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Revelation Baptist Church, where he played the piano and organ; he later joined the New Galilee MBC where he continued playing the organ and wrote songs. He obtained his education through the Cleveland Public School system and graduated from John Adams High School, Mike was a proud Mighty Rebel; afterwards, he attended IBM Business School where he studied computer science.

Mike was a lover of life. He loved music, gardening, his family and friends. Mike was the ultimate chef; he could have 5 ingredients in his refrigerator and make a full meal. Mike was everyone’s favorite and everyone was his favorite. He made sure to call everyone and knew everyone’s phone number by heart.

Mike, departed this life on May 10, 2023; he was proceeded in death by his father, his brother Mark and sister Annie B.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his mother Mamie, his sister, Denise (Reuben), his nieces Brittainni and Taelor; great nephew Terrell Jr., and great nieces Trinity and Lyric; seven aunts and four uncles; his sister Catherine; 11 nieces and nephews; as well as a host of favorite cousins and friends.
