Michael A. Gilbert was born on February 10, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio to Hosea Gilbert & the late Norma Gilbert Cheers. He was the youngest of six children who attended Cleveland Public Schools in their earlier years. Michael and his family then moved to the Cleveland Heights/ University Heights area where he attended Cleveland Heights Highschool.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Grove Baptist Church. Michael was a jack of all trades mastering many skills throughout his life. He was exceptional in construction work which he did on a daily basis as his career choice. He adapted these skills from his father and uncle until his untimely death.
Michael enjoyed fishing, music (rap), spending time with his family & friends, cooking, and classic cars. Many would consider him the life of the party because he would always come in on a dull day and make everyone’s day with food, laughter and so much more.
In his later life, he went on to marry Rhonda M. Gilbert (deceased) on February 13th, 2009, in which they spent many happy years together.

Gilbert Cheers, his paternal & maternal grandparents, one sister, one son, and wife. Michael is survived by his father Hosea Gilbert, one brother Kelvin Gilbert (Theresa), three sisters Sabrina (William), Kathy, Belinda (David), Angela (Deceased), one son Prentice (AKA Scooter), Two granddaughters, two great grandchildren, one stepson Deshaun Lewis, &’ a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers & friends.
