Michael Hubbard, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 70. He was surrounded by his loving family, who will forever cherish his memory and the impact he made on their lives.
Michael was born on January 18, 1954, to William and Ethel Hubbard. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, where he made lifelong friends and set the foundation for a successful career. Upon graduation, Michael began working at Ford Motor Company, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life before retiring. His commitment to his work and his colleagues earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Michael married Maria L. Price on July 29, 1972. Together they raised four children: Latasha Iverson (married to Lamar), Lakesha (Rashon) Linson, Michael Hubbard (married to A’Monica), and Martez Hubbard (married to Jenelle). Though they later divorced, Michael’s dedication to his family remained steadfast. His devotion to his children was evident from the values he instilled in them to the love and support he provided.
As a grandfather, Michael found immense joy in his grandchildren: Ramal Iverson, Jasmine Hubbard, JaVahn Iverson, DéJah Linson, Mayanna Hubbard, Ali Iverson, RaShon Linson Jr., Michael Hubbard Jr., Jordyn Linson, Aaliyah Hubbard, and Trentin Hubbard. His grandchildren were a source of great pride and happiness; he cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that they will carry with them forever.
Michael was known for his suave fashion, often seen sporting stylish brim hats that complemented his smooth demeanor. His relaxed attitude and giving heart made him a beloved figure among his family and friends.
Michael also leaves behind his beloved sister Pat and her husband Carl Gray, and his brother, Larry Hubbard, to whom he served as a caregiver. His brother, William Paul Hubbard, preceded him in death. His bond with all of his siblings was strong, and their support and companionship were constant throughout his life.
He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including his beloved niece, Lenissa (Lenny) Lewis and her children, Trey (Brittany) Lattimore (granddaughter, Riley), Jaelen Lattimore, Kai Lewis, Jada Hubbard, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and numerous friends who will miss him dearly.
Michael was passionate about many things in life. He loved to read, immersing himself in the pages of his favorite books. Michael also enjoyed the intellectual challenge of playing chess, especially with his son-in-law. Above all, our dad had a deep love for MUSIC. Whether listening to jazz, hip hop, or R&B, music was a constant source of joy and inspiration for him.
Michael’s life was a testament to his strength, kindness, and generosity. He will be remembered for his warm heart and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
