Mike graduated from West Technical High School in 1994, and received an Associate’s Degree from St. Mary’s in San Antionio, Texas. He loved sports and was a talented basketball player. During his high school basketball career, he set West Tech’s all-time leading scoring record and received numerous recognitions, including Plain Dealer Player of the week. After high school, he played for several colleges, leagues, and had a short overseas professional basketball career. He continued to have a love for sports, enjoying watching basketball and football regularly. Spending time with his family and friends brought him some of his greatest joys. He often cooked for them, played cards, listened to music, and simply enjoyed having a good time.
Although Mike has had some challenges with his physical heart over the past 15 years, he did not complain. He was strong and fought a good fight, until the Lord called him home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves to cherish his memories to his children; Chiquita Dunlap, Jamya Parks, Michael Daniel Parks Jr., Mikenzie Parks, and Makiya Parks; six grandchildren; Ma’leyah Dunlap, Amir Dunlap, Zaydah Spencer, Bryant Spencer, Marlie Little, and Zakari Parks; mother, Constance Gilliam (William Wilkes); father, Shelton Williams; Siblings, Robert (Sherri) Parks, Kim Brown, Jessica Parks, Santane Williams, and Shari Williams; and a host of extended family and friends. Mike will be missed but never forgotten. May the legacy of his spiritual heart live on forever…
