Michelle Denise Brister was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Barbara J. Brister and Paul E. Stamper. She was educated in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and proudly graduated from East High School as a member of the Class of 1984.
A firm believer in lifelong learning, Michelle earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and most recently obtained her certification to serve as a substitute teacher for children with special needs. Throughout her professional life, she worked in healthcare as a home health aide, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others.
Michelle was a caregiver in every sense of the word. Caring for people was not simply what she did, it was who she was. She possessed a kind, loving, and giving spirit and consistently put the needs of others before her own. Whether family, friends, or those entrusted to her care, Michelle always sought to make life a little easier and a little brighter for those around her.
During her adult life, Michelle committed her life to Christ and became a faithful member of New Covenant Christain Church. Her love for God was evident not only through her church attendance but also through her dedication to studying His Word. Following her passing, her family discovered numerous notebooks filled with Bible study notes, a testament to her desire to grow in faith and understanding.
Michelle was known for her vibrant personality and joyful presence. She was organized, punctual, and took pride in keeping things in order. Family and friends knew her as someone they could always depend on. Whether offering support, providing care, a ride, or simply showing up when she was needed, Michelle was reliable, selfless, and steadfast in her love for others. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and treasured genuine love and meaningful relationships. Often the life of the gathering, Michelle had a way of bringing people together with her warmth, laughter, and caring heart. One of her favorite songs was “Love Me For Real” by Breeze MrDo2Much, a reflection of the authenticity and love she valued throughout her life.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Stamper, and her grandmother, Lenora Davis-Campbell.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Barbara J. Brister; her brothers, Paul “Andre” Brister and Dindia Brister; her sister, Lashawn Brister; her niece, Tyler Almond; her nephews, Paul Brister, De’Andre Brister, Jayden Jelks, and Mekhi Bailey; her life partner, Mike Toler; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Michelle often reminded her loved ones that she would be okay when her time came and encouraged them to keep moving forward. Even in speaking about her own passing, Michelle’s concern remained focused on the well-being of those she loved. Though deeply missed, her love, faith, and caring spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
