Mildred Myhand also known as “Mill” was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born to Ulysses Richards and Lucille Byers Richards on July 21st, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio. Mildred was the fourth of ten children.
Mildred attended Cleveland Public School and pursued her dreams as a Licensed Cosmetologist specializing as a Master Colorist and retired from Christopher’s Hair Salon in Shaker Heights, Ohio after 20 years. Mildred loved to love on all her family and had an unbreakable bond with her siblings. She would give you her last if you needed it. She loved to bake and cook and was known for her infamous Sweet Potato Pie that she would gift to many during the holidays as well as many other dishes. She also loved music and dancing, which she was known to sway to her favorite Gospel music up until her final days. Mil was also known for her impeccable fashion and was always “sharp as a tack” for which many in the family admired her for.
Mildred was very blunt, upfront and known for many hilarious quotes in her stern voice, like “You got a Pro..blem!, “You need a baby like you need a hole in your head,” “ I don’t think so,” and “You need to get yourself together!”
On, September 14th 2023, Mildred left this world after battling a long fight with Alzheimer’s and Dementia at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her son, Calvin Myhand Jr. “JoJo; Siblings, Mary Clardy “Mae”, Atlas Richards, Ulysses Richards “Bobby”, Blannie Stevens, Ellen Jackson, Robert Richards and Walter Richards. Mildred is survived by her children, Leonard Myhand “Leenie “, Charles Myhand “Mush” and Geraldine Weaver “Chicken”, Grandchildren, Charyl Weaver, Raymond Myhand, Twanna Weaver, Terrance Myhand, Gerald Weaver, Chenisha Mitchell, Natasha Weaver and Michelle Weaver, plus 15 great grandchildren and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
