Milton “Max” Wood

Milton “Max” Wood passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Milton was born on August 10, 1934, in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles Wood, Sr and Ruth Marbry.
Milton lived a life full of dedication and love. His family and friends will remember him as a gentle soul with a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. When his mother passed away, he took on the responsibility of helping take care of his sister Barbara Ann and his brother George.
A man of many talents, Milton had a distinguished career in the United States Army for over 20 years and he worked at the Brecksville Va Hospital, where he made a significant impact and earned the respect of his colleagues. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards and he was a member of Mason Cornerstone Lodge 59. He was also a product of the Akron Public School System graduating from East High School.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Charles Wood, Sr. and Ruth Marbry. His brothers Millard Wood (his twin), Charles E. Wood, Robert L. Wood, Alfred G. Wood, Thomas Wood, Franklin Wood, and Richard Wood.
He is survived by his step-son Todd Draine of Akron, Ohio; his sister Barbara Ann Richardson of Akron, Ohio; his brothers George Wood of Akron, Ohio and Lester (Laverne) Wood of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his special niece Lorrie Howard, who was his caregiver. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
