Sister Minnie Lee Gosha was born October 1, 1936, in Sumiton, Alabama to the late Rich Woods and Corrie Lee Simmons. She confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Keeber. She served faithfully in her home church The Cleveland Church of Christ Citadel of Hope under the guidance of Bishop James R. Haughton and Bishop Lincoln C. Haughton, III for over 40 years. Minnie was an active member holding office as Vice President and member of the Nurses Guild. She was educated in Dora, Alabama prior to moving to Cleveland, OH. She married Sylvester Gosha in 1960 in which they had four children.
Minnie was a loving and compassionate STNA who devoted her life to caring for the sick and elderly with kindness, patience, and dignity. She was a proud Cleveland sports fan who enjoyed cheering on her hometown teams and bringing people together. Known for always looking amazing, she carried herself with beauty, confidence, and style everywhere she went. She also expressed her love through cooking, especially her famous soul food meals. Her homemade macaroni and cheese and hot water cornbread were family favorites that brought comfort, joy, and lasting memories to everyone blessed enough to enjoy them. Her warmth, strength, and unforgettable spirit will be cherished forever.
On Saturday, May 9th she was called home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Corrie Lee Woods, her father, Mr. Rich Woods, her ex-husband Sylvester Gosha, a son, Sylvester Gosha Jr., and three brothers, Mr. Rufus Woods and Mr. Joseph Woods, and Mr. Rickey Woods, and four sisters, Ms. Virginia Woods, Ms. Mittie Wilkerson, Ms. Richetta Woods, and Ms. Myrtle McNeal. She is survived by three brothers, Mr. Jimmie Woods, Mr. Andrew Woods, and Mr. Billie Woods.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughters, Mrs. Patricia Smith (Londell), Ms. Melaney Gosha, a son, Mr. Kevin Gosha, two grandchildren Mrs. Patrice Reynolds (Benjamin) and Ms. Lasha Grace, three great- grandchildren Paris Gosha-Foreman, Brooke Reynolds, and Benjamin Reynolds IV with a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
