Mr. Mitchell Garrett (Pop~Pop) was born Tuesday, July 8, 1941, to Mr. John L. Garrett and Mrs. Hattie Mae Swain Garrett in Talladega, Alabama.
In 1991, Mitchell confessed Christ and joined The House of The Lord in Akron, Ohio where he remained a member until his death. Mitchell had a wonderful soul; he was funny and always found humor in every situation. He enjoyed riding his bike, through the city, playing with his grandchildren and visiting with family and friends. As a result of his generous spirit and funny personality, he was loved by many.
On Thursday, September 27, 2018, Mitchell quietly departed this life in his home with his wife of 39 years by his side.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Mae Swain Garrett; father John L. Garrett, Sr.; sister, Hannah Garrett, and brother, John L. Garrett Jr.
His precious memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Mrs. Dorothy Ann Garrett; children, Mitchell Garrettt, Jr, Callie Garrett, Domotrielle Woodall, Wendell Harris, Sheryl (Kenneth) McKenzie, Tracey (Jerry) Tucker all of Akron, Ohio; brothers, J.E. (HeHe) Garrett, Rev. Jeremiah (Dessie) Garrett of Alpine, AL; Richard (Joyce) (Redman) Garrett of Akron, Ohio and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
