Dr. Franklin Knox left a message on January 23, 2022:
To the Irby family, you have my deepest condolences during this painful time of grief! I was shocked and an abundance shocked and emotions overtook me when I just learned of his passing! He’s in God’s magnificent paradise and he has a new spiritual body of everlasting life, Hallelujah! Stubby, was a good friend and remarkable athlete! I first met him and Mike, at Roswell Kent junior high school. We all wrestled on the same wrestling team and those were some amazing times. Stubby was a standout and fabulous athlete and person. He also had a wonderful sense of humor that always kept me and many laughing with joy and great intentions. After Roswell Kent, he went to Garfield high school, where he was an awesome football player and many marveled from his dauntless and remarkable courage on the gridiron! Stubby, was 5 foot 5, a middle Guard-defensive player and I watched with incredible amazement how he took on bigger players and held his own with unmatched intrepidity and unquenchable desires for impeccable greatness! He was always a close friend, and every time I came to Akron, I’d always tried to stop by and see him. I shall always remember all those warm and loving memories about a remarkable and outstanding human-being, Mizell ( Stubby) Irby! RIH with God and his wonderful new addition of Mizell! May God almighty bless his loving family during this time of grief and I send lovingly my deepest sympathy to each and everyone of you!????☝?☝?❤️ Dr. Franklin Knox and the entire family!
