Darin Lamar Lewis was an only child born on March 1, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio to Doris Lewis and the late Henry M. Lewis, Jr. Darin was a believer of God and accepted Christ at an early age.
Upon graduation from high school, he worked in the trade fields of carpentry and construction and held several jobs until he found a career with the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Public Power, where he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 39, completed a journey apprenticeship, and worked as a high voltage electrician. He was proud of his 27 years of service with the city.
Darin was a father to three children. His eldest daughter, Britney Nicole Lewis, was the apple of his eye. Darin married the love of his life and best friend, Alisa (Lisa) Lee, in 1991 and twins were born to this union, a son Darin Lamar Lewis II, and a daughter Deana LaShae Lewis. His children were his greatest joys in life, and his proudest moments were witnessing them graduate college and begin their careers. He was especially proud of Deana who excelled to become a physician. He was more than a great dad and husband; he was a cheerleader for his family, and he always put his family first. Darin and Lisa enjoyed 31 years of enduring love until God called him home.
Darin was a kind, gentle, and fun-spirit. He loved to travel and one of his favorite places to visit with his family was Florida. He also enjoyed boating and fishing with his friends and catching the biggest fish. Darin loved to take one tank road trips on weekends to enjoy the weather and sight-see; often saying to Lisa, “where are we going today?” With his favorite dog, Chloe in tow, Lisa would respond, “it’s your pick honey.”
Darin enjoyed his home and backyard cookouts with family and friends. He was an avid tech guy and always made it a point to have the latest gadgets; he took pride in building his man cave where he enjoyed watching movies and entertaining friends. Darin loved life and lived a great one. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Darin leaves a legacy of memories to his loving wife, Alisa; his children Darin II, Deana and Britney; his mother Doris Lewis; his brothers-in-law Averell Lee, Greg Lee, and Frank Watts; his God sister, Gwendolyn Dubose; his cousins, extended family, and a host of relatives and friends.
