Born on March 5, 1964, Vince was born to Mary Emma and Charles Richards in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vince was one of nine sons born into the Richards family.
Vince was educated in the Lockland, Ohio school district and was awarded a full scholarship to play basketball at Cleveland State University. One of Vince’s favorite memories was when his Vikings team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division 1 Men’s basketball tournament in 1986.
His other greatest moment was meeting and marrying his wife, Lola. The two were married on February 14 , 1994, and were happily married for 27 years. From their union they had two daughters, Brandy and Autumn. Vince counted the birth of his daughters as another one of the greatest moments of his life. He shared his love of athletics and competition with both of his daughters and coached them both in basketball and softball.
After graduation Vince worked for Cuyahoga County Job and Family Services, eventually leaving to establish his own business as an Insurance Agent for American National Insurance. Vince was respected by many in his field and appreciated by his clients.
Vince was a devoted man of God and was baptized at an early age. He attended Mt. Zion and joined Faith Fellowship Church with his wife in 2019. As a member he participated in the Men’s ministry and the Usher Team. Vince was known for his smile, laughter, and easygoing manner.
Vince remained an avid basketball fan, enjoyed bike riding and football. He also served as a board member for the Solon Chamber of Commerce.
Vince passed away on November 14, 2021, in Cleveland, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Lola, daughters Brandy and Autumn, brothers Darrell (Shelia), Keith (Trish), Aaron, Michael, Ricky, Donnie (Dee), Clarence (Brothers), many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
