Mr. Willie J. Brunson, Sr. was born on June 1, 1934, in Meridian, MS. He was one of (9) children born to the late Mr. P.J. and Virginia Brunson. He received Jesus Christ at a young age. Upon moving to Akron, Ohio, he served at Lawson Air Force Base, 464th Food Service Squadron for 4 years. He was also a Mason. He met and married Alice Brunson the love of his life and to this; union (5) children were born. He was a very hard working man providing for his family. He never missed a day of work at Chrysler and worked at 4:00 in the morning to 12:00 o’clock in the afternoon for almost 40 years retiring in 2001 as a spot welder. Willie was a very compassionate and great man, who loved to play his lottery numbers. Mr. Willie, age 83 went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, morning March 28, 2018, at Akron General Cleveland Clinic, in Akron, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents P.J. and Virginia Brunson; brothers Paul T. Brunson, T.J. Brunson and Edward L. Brunson; sisters Annie R. Garrett (Brunson); sisters, Annie R. Garrett (Brunson), and Eartha M. Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Alice Brunson; sons Willie James Brunson, Jr., Tyrone Brunson; daughters, Bonnie, Donna, Maschelle Brunson, Alice Brunson (Amonte) and Annette West; sisters, Ethel M. Brunson, and Gladys Wimberly; special sisters-in-law Delores Mitchell, Mary Brunson, Janice Brunson; brother, Walter Sonny (Dorothy) Brunson; brother-in-law, Leroy (Sharon) Mitchell; grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Powell, Deonte, Eric (Tamera) Brunson, Jasmine, Nathaniel, Davonte, Ty’Qwan, Kenneth, Tyrese Brunson, Antwan, Leroy (Angela) Norris, Donniqua Brunson, Gavin Thomas, Briah West, LaKenya Hayes, Jacqueline Murph, James Clancy; 20 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
