Del Patrice Thompson of Oakwood Village, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2022, at the age of 63. Del was born November 1st 1958 to the loving parents of John Douglas Smith (Deceased) and Janice LaDon Smith (Threat) in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Del started her education with Cleveland City Schools and then transferred to Bedford City School where she graduated and received her high school diploma in 1977. Del chose to further her education by becoming a phlebotomist.
At an early age Del accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized at Second Lakeview Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio. Later in life Del became a member of Mt. Zion of Oakwood Village, Ohio
Early in her career, Del worked as a Nursing Aid at Oak Park Nursing Home, where she had a specialty in taking care of the most vulnerable patience. Del later left the nursing home to further her career in phlebotomy and began working at Marymount Hospital (Cleveland Clinic) for approximately 10 years.
In 1978, Del married Bryant Lee Thompson Sr., and to this union were born four children, Valencia P. Thompson, Bryant L. Thompson Jr, Conan R. Douglas Thompson and Jeremy Issaac Thompson and also raised her three oldest grandchildren DeQuan Thompson, Briana Thompson and Porscha Thompson.
Del really enjoyed listening to music, arts and crafts, sewing, and treasured being with her family and friends. Especially, when all of her grandchildren would come together for celebrations, special occasions and holidays.
Del will be greatly remembered and missed but never forgotten by her mother, Janice L Smith; children, Valencia Thompson, Bryant Thompson, Conan Thompson and Jermey Thompson; her brothers, John Douglas Smith (Tanya), Barry Craig Smith (Shon) and her sister Karen LaDon Smith; her grandchildren DeQuan Thompson, Briana Thompson, Porscha Thompson, Michael Blanchard, Makenzi Thompson, Mariah Blanchard, Myshael Blanchard, Bryant Thomson, Jr, Jalysia Thompson, Issac Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Justine Thompson, Emily Thompson, Raylyn Thompson, Za’Raye Thompson, Ziare Brown; great-grandchildren, Elliette Del Thompson, Emmett Mitchell, Nazir Brinkley, Allen Randall, Jr and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
