Naomi Marie Burden was born on June 6, 1982, in Akron, Ohio, to Rev. David and Tonya Burden. As the 2nd eldest of seven children, she proudly embraced her role as big sister, offering guidance, love, and support throughout her life.
Naomi graduated from Hametown Christian Academy. As a young girl, she found joy in attending Sunday School and participating in youth and teen activities, leaving a lasting impression on many young lives. Her faith was deeply rooted, and she held a strong love and appreciation for the Word of God.
Professionally, Naomi devoted twenty-two years to Sam’s Club in Fairlawn, Ohio, where she served in various roles throughout her career. She was never one to shy away from a challenge—often taking on secondary jobs to support her family and friends. Her relentless work ethic, commitment, and servant-hearted nature were evident in all she did.
Naomi’s passion for books, movies, and music was more than entertainment; it was a meaningful part of her identity and daily joy. While Naomi never married, she cultivated a deep and cherished partnership of five years, with Yeng Vang, who introduced her to the joys of fishing and the rich flavors of Asian cuisine. More than a friend, Naomi was a natural caregiver, nurturing and guiding her younger brothers while respectfully embracing the protection of her older brother. She was always offering love and comfort to her family and friends.
Naomi’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and unwavering strength. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
Naomi is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Russell and Ozenia Burden, and her grandfather, Miguel Casas.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her grandmother, Stella Jackson; her loving parents, Rev. David and Tonya Burden; her brothers, Isaiah A. Burden (Amanda), Micah A. Burden (Shannon), Joel A. Burden, Levi A. Burden (Ali), Manoah A. Burden Sr., and Ethan A. Burden; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Naomi’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
