Nellie L. McMichael age 92, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on April 9, 2016.

On June 21, 1941 Nellie married Harding McMichael who preceded her in death.  This union brought four beautiful children into the world, a son, Harding McMichael Jr., (spouse Queen) and three daughters, Aryce Mooty (deceased) (spouse James), Carole Freeman (spouse Otis) and Janet Carpenter-Kane.

Nellie is survived by eight grandchildren: Robert Johnson Jr. (spouse Nancy), Solomon Vance III (spouse Georgianne), Kimberly Hill (fiance Robert), Michael McMichael, James Mooty Jr. (spouse Pamela), Fabian Carpenter  (fiancé Carolyn), Harding Birdette Mooty (spouse Tiffany) and Kandi Turner (spouse Carlos).

Thirteen loving Great-Grandchildren survive her:  Donovan Vance, Debra Hill, Michael Hill, Kali Mooty, Malichi Mooty, Monique Mooty, Marcus Mooty, Matthew Mooty, Michael Mooty, Latiana Carpenter, Kiana Carpenter, Romero Harper Jr., and Janaya Freeman.

Extended family members that Nellie added to her grandma/nonnie list are John, Patricia, Karen, Courtney, Ricki, Kenny  Kayla, Litho, LaTanya, Khamaree, Avia and Cymone.
