Life was given to me, on August 24, 1937, in Barberton, Ohio. I was the daughter of the late Hardy and Arlene Jackson. I was placed in a family of two brothers and one sister. One brother Everhart Jackson preceded me in death.
I accepted Christ at an early age joining Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. I was willing to do whatever I could to help in the service of the Lord until her health began to decline.
Graduating from Barberton High School, I worked many jobs. My final job was Barberton Citizens Hospital, retiring with 37 years of service. I was blessed with natural abilities that were useful in helping others. Friends stated many times that her “genuine smile,” advice, and helping hand made an impact on their lives. I respected all people and was blessed to receive the same from them.
My passion in life was to travel and see the world. So, I created my own little agency and started taking other people on trips. We traveled as a group for many years. I loved getting on large ships and cruising to different islands and ports of call, flying to California, and taking bus trips throughout the desert to Las Vegas. There are very few states that I had not been to and countries outside of the United States. I lived an abundant life. God blessed me tremendously.
I leave to mourn my passing husband, Walter Grimes Jr., of 60 wonderful years; brother, Richard Jackson Sr.; sister, JoAnn Jackson Neal; cousin, Elgen Lehaile Grayson; nieces, Crystal Dickens, Diamond Harth, Traci Mayle, Nadine Peak; nephews, Gentry Jackson, Richard Jackson Jr., Marcus Jackson, Andre` Jackson, and Nathaniel Franks; The 3 loves of my life were, Walter A. Mayle III, Lonnie Atkinson IV, and Malyk T. Alcorn; special friends, Katie Chambers and Brenda Dejournett, and a host of relatives and friends, whom I loved with all her heart!
I died on Monday, February 24, 2020. My soul returned to God who gave it. Man recorded that I ceased to live at 10:10 A.M, but only God and I know exactly when I entered eternity.
No, I do not end here, my memory lives on in those who survive me. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with the voice of the Archangel, with the trumpet of God: And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
