moved to Gaston, Alabama in 1952. The daughter of the late Johnnie Mae Scott and Clarence
Davenport. Though her time with her mother was tragically short, the bond she shared with her
siblings remained unbreakable. After their mother’s passing, Nommie and her brothers and
sisters found solace and strength in each other, lovingly looked after by their Aunt Betsie and a
host of aunts and uncles until they could stand on their own.
High School in Gadsden, Alabama, a testament to her commitment to education. Later, her
journey led her to Cleveland, where she pursued her passion at Beatrice Cosmetology
School. This marked the beginning of a brilliant career, as she blossomed into one of
Cleveland’s most celebrated and talented cosmetologists and hair stylists, known for her hair-
growing skills and the confidence she instilled in her clients. ✨
love. Her culinary skills were legendary, filling her home with the aromas of her delicious
creations. 🍲She found joy in the simple pleasures: western movies transported her to
another world, cooking shows inspired her kitchen adventures, and Browns football
games ignited her competitive spirit. Above all, her heart belonged to her family. 🏈👨👩👧👦
sharing a lifetime of love and memories. Together, they were blessed with four wonderful sons:
Andre’, Phillip (who sadly preceded her in death in 2020), Sean (and his wife Shemeka),
and Terrance (and his wife Marie). Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren:
Diamond, Ta-Janee’, Sean Jr., and Skye, and her precious great-grandchildren, Dallas and
Jordyn. She also leaves behind cherished memories with her siblings and a host of friends who
will deeply miss her warmth and spirit. 🙏

Albert Felton, Annie Ruth Scott, Mary Elizabeth Scott, and Sonny Davenport. Nommie
