Odessa Goode was the first of four children from the union of Eddie and Mamie (Johnson) Robinson. Odessa was born on May 5 in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was a quiet and inquisitive child, generous to all. She would say during her childhood, growing up with her sister and brother was truly the highlight of her life. Her brother’s passing left a void because he was the youngest, but the bond between she and her sister fostered more love and companionship that she thoroughly enjoyed. She truly cherished her time with her family. Odessa accepted the Lord at the age of 8 years old. She matriculated through the East Highland Elementary and High School. All who knew her could attest that she was a stylish and poised young lady who had an enveloping smile for everyone.

Odessa met and married Ameall Mack Goode Sr. From that union came they’re for children Patricia Goode-Williams (Allen), Ameall Goode Jr. (Joyce), David Goode (Patricia) and John W. Goode (Tammy), granddaughter Stephanie Goode, grandson Joshua Goode and great granddaughter Camila Martin, very special nephew Baron Robinson and a special friend Pauline Taylor along with many cousins.

She was a nurturing mother whose patience engulfed not only her children but also other children she encountered. Through her life she displayed a strong work ethic, and a love for her children. She had an eye for the enhancement of their lives and so many others. We were blessed to have had this time to spend with her.

Odessa was a private health provider, but she was first and foremost a mother and a homemaker. She was a force that was there on all occasions when her children needed her. They can remember and say Mom was there, always loving, always giving!

She taught her children how to be kind and considerate not only to one another but to others. As a sister she was supportive and always willing to help her parents, siblings, and her church.

To cherish her precious memory with deep and enduring love Odessa was predeceased in death by her her husband Mack, mother Mammie, her father Edward, her sister, Ernestine, her brother Eddie Jr. (Bo) and her son David.
