Ora Jean McWhorter was born April 4, 1939, to Mildred and Oren Leverett in Youngstown, Ohio. She relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1959.
Ora Jean attended and graduated from Ryan High School in Youngstown and continued her education at Tri-C Community College for law enforcement.
She worked and was the lead in the culinary department at Ohio Savings Bank for over 10 years. She retired in 2007 from Cleveland Clinic as a lead dietary supervisor.
Ora Jean was known for reading, taking care of her plants, keeping a clean house and doing hair.
Ora Jean was called home on May 15, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Oren Leverette, her partner, and the love of her life Fred Ahart, and two sons, Herman and Larry.
She leaves to cherish her memory; 8 children: Cortez(Carol), James, Isabella (Dennis), Stephen (Joyce), Jeffrey, Kevin, Tyrone and Jacqueline, 24 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
