Oscar C. Johnson, age 88, went home to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by family on July 15, 2022. Oscar was born in Youngstown, Ohio. During his early teenage years his family moved to Akron, Ohio where he spent the rest of his life.  He graduated from East High School and later joined the United States Army.  After leaving the service, he went to work for Ford Motor Company as a journeyman (tool and die) for 33 years.  He was a member of the House of the Lord where he loved to work on the weekends doing maintenance and enjoying the fellowship of the other volunteers.  He loved sports, history, and traveling. Oscar was preceded in death by parents, Oscar C. Johnson, and Beatrice Williams-Johnson; his brother, Charles; and grandson, Aaron Johnson.

He leaves behind to celebrate his homegoing with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ his wife of 30 years, Katherine C. Johnson; his daughters, Pamela (Sydney) Davis of Lilburn, Georgia, Sheila (Arthur) Torrey of Akron, Ohio, Sharon Johnson of Canton, Ohio, and Crystal Johnson of Akron, Ohio; his sons, Michael and Stanley Johnson of Akron Ohio; his stepchildren, Rhonda Waller of Akron, Ohio, Yolonda Bruyere of Ravenna, Ohio, and Celeste (Nathan) Waller-Trimble of Hamilton, Ohio;  20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; his nieces, Paula (Darnell) Porcher, and Carla (James) Johnson Porcher of Massachusetts; and a host of friends and relatives. He was loved and cherished in life, and he will be loved and cherished and missed in death.
