In Loving Memory of
Otto Lee Lawrence Jr
February 15, 1950 – November 3, 2019
Otto Lee Lawrence Jr., aka “Jr” was born in Cleveland, Ohio February 15, 1950 to the union of Otto Lee Lawrence Sr. and Willia Mae Hambrick Farmer, both preceded in death. With a Christian upbringing he accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Christ Temple Church. He was the oldest of 6 children, always known as “Big Brother” to his siblings, because he was the only child for many years.
He attended Cleveland Public Schools. After graduation Otto headed off to the United States Army. When he returned, he met and fell in love with Francine Jones they married in July of 1969 (she preceded him in death). To this union one son was born, Otto Lee Lawrence III aka “Tinky.”
Otto had a little entrepreneurship in him, he assisted his mother Willia Farmer and her business partner Mrs. Johnnie Joiner as a Flower Designer for almost a decade. In the yellow florist shop located on East 105th Street called “Basket of Flowers.” After the closing of the flower shop, he worked several jobs around the city. Then onto care giving for his Uncle Walter and Uncle Joe (both preceded him in death. Otto then landed a position with his best friend and cousin Reggie Sizemore at his business “Father’s Dream Appliances” as a repair and salesman, for over 2 decades. Due to his illness he had to retire early.
Otto was quiet, laid back, kept to himself, and was a low-key comedian, with a loving heart. His favorite color was blue, like his mom. His favorite meal was “chicken and French fries, his favorite beverage was a cold beer and a little wine.” If something was going on with Otto, you would have never known, his words were always “I’m doing OK”. If you really wanted to get the 411, you would practically have to force him to talk.
Otto leaves to cherish his memory to his son, Otto Lee (Marlena) Lawrence III; one granddaughter Ocean Lawrence; one sister LaShawn Farmer; 4 brothers, Christopher Farmer, Stuart Lawrence, Neil (Delores) Lawrence, Adelbert (Antitsia) Lawrence; his Step-Mom Estelene Lawrence and Sharon Glover the love of his life for over 6 years, whom he met while working at Father’s Dream; along with a host of family, the Farmer’s, Hambrick’s, Sizemore, Nowden’s, Lentz’s, Nance’s, and Wright’s, Lawrence’s; and many friends.
