Pamela Denise Beasley-Roberts was born on August 30, 1951 in Akron, Ohio to the late Sylvester and Catherine Beasley. She departed this life on April 10, 2020. She attended Akron Public Schools, Robinson Elementary, Goodyear Middle and East High Schools. She grew up attending Bethel Baptist Church in East Akron. She was well known for her ability to write beautiful poetry and was often asked to write poems for weddings and other special occasions. She was an avid roller skater and very skilled in her footwork. Pam was the featured singer on a local hit program, “Take Me Back”, performed with Tommy Johnson and the Elegance produced by an Akron Independent Record Label in 1981.
Pam volunteered with the Akron Head Start Program supporting her children’s early education. She worked for years at Broadview Development Center where she dedicated her time to caring for mentally handicapped patients.
She loved her family and had a great many friends.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucretia A. Beasley, LaVern Norwood-Austin and Jeanette L. Beasley.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Beasley, Dahnyale Beasley, Chetoiri Beasley, Jazmine Johnson and Reagan Neal, all of Akron; grandchildren, Ta’Metria, Ter’shay, Toshionna, Ta’cora, Tierra, Tajshia, Timia, Tra’Shaun, Tavaris, Terrell, Thomas, Sergio, Tarahgi, Ta’Zae, Troirionne, Tashera, Tyreeq; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene (Fannie, deceased) of Lakeland, FL, Gregory (Janice) of Columbus, OH, Kelvin and Brian (Felicia) Beasley of Akron, OH; sisters, Donna (Charles) Wesley of Akron, OH, Dr. Sandra (Claire) Barnes of Charlotte, NC and Karla (Jeff) Meadows; aunt, Lucille (Charles, deceased) Callahan of Columbus, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all over the country.
