Pamela LaThea Hubbard, a radiant spirit that touched all who knew her, was born on July 19,1954, to Mary Lou Hatten (Lacy) and Walter Lee Hubbard, both now deceased. As the elder sister to Kevin, Stephanie and Marsha (deceased), Pamela naturally carried a strength and sense of individuality that would define her life’s journey.
She was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools system and proudly graduated from John Adams High School as part of the Class of 1972. Even in her youth, Pamela’s artistic gifts began to shine. She had a remarkable talent for drawing and fearlessly shared her creativity by entering art competitions and submitting her illustrations to comic book publishers—an early testament to her bold imagination and passion for expression.
Pamela built a dedicated career as a technician at TRW, where her diligence and skill earned the respect of colleagues. She later married Lamont M. Porter, Sr.; though their marriage eventually dissolved, they maintained a lasting friendship grounded in mutual respect.
Pamela’s vibrant personality was reflected in her unmistakable style. Known for her eclectic and Afrocentric fashion, she embraced culture, color, and creativity in every aspect of her life. Her love for fine arts extended into her home, where she showcased her exceptional talent for interior decorating, curating spaces filled with beauty, character, quality and treasured antique artifacts. A frequent visitor to her favorite store Pier 1 Imports, she found joy in discovering unique pieces that told a story.
Above all, Pamela will be remembered for her bright and beautiful smile; her joyful and contagious laughter; and her remarkable ability to command a room with honesty, quick wit, and humor. She had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and uplifted, in a way that was her own.
Pam leaves to lovingly cherish her memory, her brother Kevin Hubbard and sister Stephanie Hubbard. Though she did not have children, she loved her nieces and nephews deeply: Kamille, Mylan, Tyrone, Simone, Daniel, Andre, Jr., Tiara and Alison. She will also leave cherished memories with her aunts Bertha Jones and Connie Covington, and uncles James Lacy and Marvin Lacy, Sr. Pam was also blessed with many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, and dear friends that became family, such as her closest friends Jeanette “Cookie” Green Campbell and Kelly Dunnican.
Pamela’s life was a celebration of creativity, authenticity, and love. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the connections she made and the beauty she brought into the world.
