Pamela Ricki Lee, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on, December 14, 2022.
Pamela Ricki Lee was born 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio. She enjoyed living with her mom early on but then had the privilege of also living with her grandmother, grandfather, Aunt Mary and cousins Sharon, Brenda and Marcia, to attend junior high and high school. At times they traveled together and Ricki lived the ‘hard life’ eating the food of a professional chef, grandma Lee.
She had her fun, and eventually buckled down and completed her college degree at Ohio University. She became a histology technician initially for Brentwood Hospital and then finished her time through retirement within the Cleveland Clinic Hospital system.
Her sister Debra would often refer to her as Xena girl, Warrior Woman, or Farmer Annie because she thoroughly enjoyed working on her yard, especially trimming her bushes. She was often accused of making up reasons to put down more fertilizer on her yard or other activities just to be outside physically working hard.
She especially enjoyed times with many of her cousins, and the family of her long time ‘sister-friend’ Vickie Davis.
Even down to her last days here on this side of Heaven, her medical providers referred to her as being physically very strong, but her endurance had waned as the illnesses reduced her ability to breathe.
On December 14, approximately 3:30 PM, she took her last breath with good friend Vickie and sister Debra by her side. Her struggle was now over in this world and her face calmed as she transitioned to a place far, far better than where she was at that moment.
She had reconfirmed her love and commitment to Jesus and just prior to leaving this world, she agreed that yes, she knew we had her, and yes, she knew Jesus had her also. When her struggle showed the end was near, she answered, “yes”, she was beginning to see Him.
Matthew John 14:28, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” ( NIV)
1 Cor 15:55- O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (KJV)
That was the most peaceful we’d seen her in the past several months, including almost 3 weeks in the ICU. She fought a good fight. She ran a good race and completed her journey here.
Ricki is survived by her sister Dr. Debra Russell, stepfather and stepmother Herman (Tommia) Russell of St. Louis Missouri, many loving cousins and family members.
As Ricki’s sister, Debra, I would like to give special thanks to Ricki’s good friend Vickie, and cousins Patty, Brenda, Toni, Marsha and David, who helped support me in great ways during preparation for this Homegoing. Also, thank you to all of our family and friends who showed Ricki love by texts, phone calls and visits. She truly appreciated it and enjoyed those times with you all.
