Emmett is survived by his wife First Lady Kim Jones of 13 years. Children: Michael (Andrea), Larissa (Greg), and Deloras; Siblings: Heloise, Thomas (April), L.G. (Ann), Joe, Frederick (Sue), Judith (Terry), Syretha (Louis), Jewel (Pearl), Anthony (Deborah); Grandchildren: DeLonte (Louvenia), Andre, LeBron, Jasmine, Natalie, Nyah, and Noelle; Great-Grandchildren : LaTaya and DeLonte, Jr.; Extended family: Darnell (Shante), Kellie, Indeia, and Nubia; Lifetime friend: Paul Farmer; and host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
