Eugene Anthony, a preacher of the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ, went to sleep in Jesus on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 67.
Eugene was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Emmitt and Gladys
Anthony. His early education was obtained from Peabody High School in
Alexandria, Louisiana. Eugene enlisted in the United States Navy and
honorably served his country until he was discharged on December 18, 1972.

On June 1, 1979, he married Shelia Calliste, a Seventh-day Adventist school teacher. From this union, they had two sons and six grandchildren. He left to mourn his wife of 42 years, a daughter, three sons, three daughter-in-laws, nine grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Early on in his ministry, Pastor Eugene Anthony was a dynamic literature
evangelist who boldly proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ through the printed page. After several years of serving as the Publishing Director for the Lake Region Conference, while also serving as a pastor, he decided to fully commit to pastoral ministry.

For the last several years, Pastor Eugene Anthony was in active ministry at the Glenville Present Truth Seventh-day Adventist church in Cleveland, Ohio. He believed in preaching the straight truth from the Word of God and the Spirit of Prophecy. With an ardent zeal for preaching the pure unadulterated truth, he eagerly integrated the right hand of the gospel message which is the health message that he preached and practiced. If you have heard Pastor Anthony’s sermons, you would know that he was known for his creative titles such as: Wake Up and Get Up!, It’s Time to Recalibrate!, Give Me A Call at 333!, referencing Jeremiah 33:3. The Woman Christ Would Marry, and finally God’s Blessings Has No Shelf Life Date!. Pastor Eugene Anthony will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church members, and all who knew him.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Shelia Anthony; his children, Genique Anthony, Eugene Hamilton (Traci), Mahalon Anthony (Deanna), and Ornan Anthony (Jamie). Nine grandchildren: Jacoby, Janaya, Matthew, Faith, Leila, Izaiah, Danyel, Isabella, and Justin. Three sisters: Mayrene, Jackie, and Earline. Two brothers: Floyd and Emmitt. He is preceded in death by his parents Emmitt and Gladys, and sister, Catherine.
