Patrice Louise Williams was born on March 7, 1955 to the marital union of the late Harvey and Ella Pearl Williams. She was the third oldest of a heavenly blended family and the oldest girl. She was known as “Pat” to all of her friends and family members. Pat was educated in the Cleveland Public School System. She graduated in 1973 from John F. Kennedy High School. Pat attended Cuyahoga Community College and graduated with associate degrees in liberal arts and early childhood education.
Pat received Christ at an early age and was baptized at East Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She later joined First Greater New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an usher.
On August 24, 1982, she gave birth to her only child, her son Darnell E. Williams. Darnell brought so much joy and happiness to her life.
Pat was a great artist and spent countless hours drawing and painting but seldom shared her work with others. She was a proud and active member of the Philos (an auxiliary group of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated). She loved listening to gospel and old school R & B music, (if the music was really good she would dance a little), attending concerts, plays, traveling and line dancing. She also enjoyed going to the movies and trying various restaurants with her Aunt Brenda Ford and Cousin Glenn Curtis.
Pat was employed at Hough Salvation Army Day Care Center and Friendly Inn Settlement as a lead day care teacher. She was a “5 star” teacher and her work was often used as teaching tools to assist other teachers. Pat loved working with and teaching children. Pat retired in 2022 from Step Forward and was looking forward to traveling and enjoying life.
Patrice leaves to cherish her memories, her son Darnell Williams (Autumn), 2 grandchildren Xavier and Zoe, mother Ella P. Williams, sisters Michelle Daniels, Angela Thomas and Barbara Williams. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends Robin Bonner and Celeste Laster, her Philo sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by a sister who died in infancy, father Harvey Williams, brothers Larry “Butch” Middlebrooks and Harvey “Gene” Williams.
