Patricia Ann (Barnes) Adams went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2018. She will continue to be loved and missed by many.
Patricia was born in Akron, attending Lincoln Elementary School and graduating from South High School in 1956. After receiving a diploma from Hammel-Actual College, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958. In 1958 she began her federal service career at U.S. Public Health. She was employed at various agencies, returning to Akron in 1974, finishing her career with the Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, in 1993. While in Cincinnati, she was married to Arthur Roland Adams. From that union was born her only child, Kim Adams.
Patricia enjoyed bowling, reading, puzzles, boxing, and football. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her intellect, and her ability to think fast on her feet. She lived life to the fullest, was a great advisor, and could always make you laugh. She told it like it was, shooting straight from the hip.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Algerre and Lamar Barnes Sr.; brothers, Richard and Lamar Barnes Jr.; three sisters, Frances Fleming, Annie Fleming, and Yvonne Haynes; her previous spouse Arthur Roland Adams; god-daughter, Angela Elder.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Adams; her grandson Patrick Arthur Adams; sisters, Carol Barnes Atchison, Corinne Sanders, and Norma Jean Elder-McKnight; god-children, Jacob Elder, John Reginald Elder, Norman Steven Elder, Patricia McKnight; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
