Patricia Ann Barrett-Harrington was born on March 4, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio. She lived a life centered on faith, family, education, and service to others and entered eternal rest on January 8, 2026, at the age of 73.
Patricia was a devoted Christian whose faith guided how she lived each day. She was an active member of East Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she found strength, community, and purpose. Her faith was not something she kept to herself. It showed in her actions, her kindness, and her willingness to help others whenever she could. She believed in doing what was right, standing firm in her beliefs, and showing care and compassion to those around her.
Education was important to Patricia, and she worked hard to achieve her goals. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Management and later went on to complete a master’s degree. She also earned several professional certifications, including Certified Medical Billing Specialist and Notary Public. Throughout her career, Patricia worked in medical administration and health information, and later in education as an instructor and substitute teacher. Her work reflected her dedication to learning, organization, and helping others succeed.
Patricia was involved in her community and maintained a strong connection to the School of the Arts, where she supported education, creativity, and personal growth. She valued staying engaged and giving back in ways that mattered.
Patricia loved to cook, but what she loved even more was who she was cooking for. She never missed a chance to be invited anywhere, especially if it involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being called GiGi was one of her greatest joys. She loved music, loved to dance, and had a way of bringing life into a room just by being in it. She knew everyone in her neighborhood and made sure they stayed in line, always with humor and love. You could talk to Patricia about anything, and she would keep the conversation going for days. She had an opinion, a thought, or a story for even the smallest moment, and she shared them freely. She was not just a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, or sister. She was a presence, a voice, a memory maker, and a woman who left an impression wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Verna Harrington, her beloved husband Ronald Barrett, her brother Gregory Harrington and her son Clifford Jefferson Jr.
Patricia is survived by her children, Lamond and Mark Jefferson; her brothers, Thomas and Anthony Harrington; her many grandchildren; and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She will be remembered for her faith, her generosity, and the love she shared so freely with others.
