It is with heavy hearts and deep love that the family of Patricia Posey Cox, affectionately known as Trisha, announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Akron, Ohio, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Lutherine and Ralph Posey (both deceased).
She was a beloved sister to Catherine Posey, Richard Posey, and David Posey, and is reunited in rest with her siblings Rochelle Posey, Nancy Parmer, Elaine Carter, and Germaine Christian.
Patricia was the devoted wife of Clyde D. Cox of Akron, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they raised a beautiful family, and Patricia was the adored mother of Sharon
Veronica Anthony (Demetrius Anthony), Vanessa E. Boyd (James Boyd), Clyde P. Cox, Gregory N. Cox, Russell G. Cox, Amanda C. Cox, and Amaris A. Cox. She was the gentle and loving grandmother of Brandon Anthony, Chantelle Anthony, Sophia Cox, Sonia Cox, Natalia Boyd, Christian Boyd, and Bishop Boyd.
Although Patricia achieved professional success in a fulfilling late-in-life career as a real estate agent, it was her personal joys that truly defined her life. She found peace in gardening, cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, and had a profound love of reading, especially history. Patricia also had a lifelong affection for poetry, which she both memorized and composed with grace and heart. Her love of travel added richness to her life, allowing her to explore the world beyond her garden gate.
Patricia’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was raised in the Evening Light Church of God, where she became a longtime and faithful member, and later continued her spiritual journey with the New Covenant Sanctuary of Praise, where her devotion and heartfelt sincerity created a lasting impression.
Patricia had a way of touching the lives of everyone she met. Her vivacious laugh, zest for life, sharp wit, natural charm, thoughtful wisdom, and generous spirit continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
