Patrick Earl Crowell Sr. was born on December 13, 1948, in Acmar, Alabama, to the late Thomas E. Crowell Sr. and Annie Pearl Crowell. He was the youngest of five children, joining his siblings Thomas Crowell Jr., Annie Lois Crowell, Arthur Crowell, and Joseph Crowell.
Patrick received his education in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Max S. Hayes High School on June 14, 1968.
Later in the 1960s, Patrick married Viola Frier. Although the marriage ended in divorce in 1985, their union was blessed with two children. Their first son, Patrick Earl Crowell Jr., was born on March 12, 1969, followed by their daughter, Kara Crowell, who was born on January 11, 1972. Years later, Patrick welcomed his third child, Tristan Crowell, who was born in August 1998.
Patrick began his career with Chesterfield Steel on August 12, 1968, where he faithfully worked until his retirement in November 2004. Throughout his many years of employment, he was known as a hardworking and dependable individual.
Outside of work, Patrick embraced life with passion and creativity. He possessed an extraordinary artistic talent and found great joy in painting and sculpting, creating countless beautiful works throughout his lifetime. He was also an avid dog lover with a special affection for Great Danes. Patrick enjoyed riding motorcycles, rarely being without one, and loved gathering with family and friends for celebrations and good times. Above all else, he cherished spending time with those he loved.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Crowell Sr. and Annie Pearl Crowell, as well as his siblings, Thomas Crowell Jr. and Annie Lois Crowell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Patrick Earl Crowell Jr., Kara Crowell, and Tristan Crowell; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brothers, Arthur Crowell (Ernestine Thomas) and Joseph Crowell (Floretta); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
His artistic spirit, love for family, generous heart, and joyful personality will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
