Paul Schuyler Nash born May 17, 1946, went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2024. He was 77 years young. He was the son of Evangelist Katherine Nash and Leroy Mitchell. He was born in Rochester NY and was a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio. He attended Akron Public Schools. He was a Buchtel High School graduate and also attended Mahoning Valley Vocational for Office Clerk work. He received a degree of Honor in original oratory, won a Gold Key for Art and was a member of the National Forensic League. Paul’s hobby was writing. He was very fond of Foreign Languages and studied ancient Egyptian history. He was employed by Metro Life Insurance Company, Hawthornden State Mental Hospital and the Rage Gallery. He gave his life to God at the tender age of 10 and has been an active soldier for Christ ever since. He began his Christian journey with the First Born Church of the Living God with Pastor Oscar Hill and ended his journey at the Bethel Christian Fellowship with Pastor James Wright Sr. He started preaching the Word at the age of 17. He joined Gwendolyn Benford in marriage on Valentine’s Day February 14, 1976 and received a beautiful daughter named Monika. In the union of the two, their beautiful daughter, Cheryl Nash, was born.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evangelist Katherine Nash and father, Leroy Mitchell; nephews, Michael W. Thomas Jr. and Aaron Nash, and niece, Angel Blackmon. He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Woodrow (Wanda) Nash of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Robin Nash-Dankwa (George Dankwa) of Accra Ghana and Los Angeles, California, Rosemary Nash and Kathy Nash of Akron, Ohio; loving daughters, Monika Nash and Cheryl Nash-Vincent both of Akron; 8 grandchildren, Darshon Nash, DaQuinn Nash, Da’Veonna Nash, Demetrius Vincent, Amerlia Vincent, Ameenna Vincent, Amerionna Vincent, and Aireonna Vincent all of Akron, Ohio; 5 great grandchildren, Harmony Vincent, D’Myra Vincent, Dakota Nash, Darshon Nash Jr., and Da’Nya Nash, all of Akron; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
