Paul Hampton was born on January 23, 1972, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Marion and Rochelle Hampton. Paul was the second-born son in this three-sibling union. Paul was raised in the church and was full of questions and ideas about God and his purpose. He was raised with a strong work ethic by his parents. From the time that he was able, Paul worked and always gave, even having hopes of becoming a highway patrolman. Paul attended and graduated from John Adams in 1991. Throughout his years of employment, Paul maintained various jobs until he discovered his passion, truck driving. This passion led him to many different states and locations, allowing him to meet and develop new relationships. Paul was a son, a brother, and a father. Nathan Hampton, his son, was welcomed into the world and into the family on December 23, 2000. Along with traveling to see his family, who lived in Virginia, Paul enjoyed having thought-provoking conversations, talking about politics, and he loved making people laugh. Going fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he shared that passion with his son.
From Rebecca, A fond memory she’ll carry with her about her brother: I will always remember when I was younger how you would take me to Geauga Lake, and we would have so much fun together. How that when he would get home in the middle of the night and wake me up to say, he had brought in pizza. How that he would talk your ears off, but that was my brother. Though as time passed and we got older, we grew apart. But I’m most grateful that the Lord allowed us to reconnect and redeem some of our time. I was able to share faith with him, even pray for him, which was something he actually asked me to do. To be able to lay my brother to rest with the assurance that “all is well with his soul”, I’ll be eternally grateful to the Lord for that.
On October 8, 2025, the Lord called Paul home. However, Paul had to deal with some health issues in his life. Paul had faith to believe God can and will heal him in His time. Until his time came, Paul continued to work when his body would allow. He passed these same strong values to his son.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Rochelle Hampton, his brothers, Carl, Steven, and Morris Hampton, and his sisters, Pearl and Zaneta Hampton.
Paul leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Nathan Hampton, and his sisters, Rebecca, Linda
(Earl) of Clairton, Pa, Betty Jean, of Pittsburgh, Pa, and Doretha (John) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His brother, Samuel Hampton of Hazlewood, Pa., his aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
